The hotel's rooms in the annex across from reception were mostly clean; though, I found just a hair in the basin. Overall, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, it was very stuffy at times. The hotel staff always provided excellent and friendly service, and I would certainly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the area. The location is fantastic, especially for exploring different areas of the lakes or enjoying a quiet meal in Whitehaven. The dining at the pub was a mix of experiences, with some days having lots of choice and cooked-to-order options while missing some items like scrambled eggs on other days. On the positive side, sourdough bread was available. However, I felt there was not enough food in the pub at times. The facilities were good, although I would have appreciated a clearer non-smoking entrance around the foyer area. Two upsides were the convenient location close to Brewers Fayre restaurant stairs and the helpful staff who go the extra mile.
