The hotel is serving a mixed bag - freshly new rooms that are exceptionally nice and clean with comfortable beds but some cleanliness issues in parts of the property. The service is top-notch with accommodating and friendly staff, though some staff actions could be more aligned with environmental policies. The location is convenient for travel to Whitehaven and surrounding areas, but can be affected by extra construction. Dining experiences vary from average to good value for money. Some facilities are well-kept, but there are areas that need upgrading.

The hotel offers a clean and comfortable stay with friendly staff in a great location. The dining experience was slightly inconvenient due to the layout. Overall, a good value for money option.

The hotel is conveniently located for our Coast to Coast bike ride, with easy access to the Lakes and surrounding areas. The service was exceptional, particularly in arranging our five twin rooms. The dining experience had some hiccups, like the buffet not being fully available, but the overall stay met our needs for this trip.

Rooms
7.0
Our room, although a bit smaller than previous nights, was still comfortable enough for us. The noise from the bar/restaurant entrance was a downside, but manageable.
Service
9.0
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, making our stay pleasant and hassle-free.
Location
8.0
Access to nearby areas was convenient for our exploration.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience had its ups and downs, with some limitations in the buffet options. Price-wise, breakfast seemed a bit expensive for what was offered.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were adequate for our needs, nothing extravagant but satisfactory for our stay.

The hotel's rooms in the annex across from reception were mostly clean; though, I found just a hair in the basin. Overall, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, it was very stuffy at times. The hotel staff always provided excellent and friendly service, and I would certainly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the area. The location is fantastic, especially for exploring different areas of the lakes or enjoying a quiet meal in Whitehaven. The dining at the pub was a mix of experiences, with some days having lots of choice and cooked-to-order options while missing some items like scrambled eggs on other days. On the positive side, sourdough bread was available. However, I felt there was not enough food in the pub at times. The facilities were good, although I would have appreciated a clearer non-smoking entrance around the foyer area. Two upsides were the convenient location close to Brewers Fayre restaurant stairs and the helpful staff who go the extra mile.

Location

The hotel's location is fantastic for exploring the lakes or enjoying a quiet meal in Whitehaven, although clearer non-smoking entrances would be helpful.
Dining

The dining experience had its highs and lows, with good choices on some days but lacking options and portion sizes on others.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were good overall, with the location close to Brewers Fayre restaurant stairs being handy. However, more distinct non-smoking areas would have been appreciated.
